Generalized nursing training

The aim of generalized nursing training is to increase the quality and modernity of the nursing profession by bringing together different training paths.
This will result in a uniform, three-year program that places particular emphasis on practical experience.
Graduates should be comprehensively prepared for work in all care areas – including geriatric, nursing and child care – in order to be able to work successfully and responsibly in these areas.

Overview

Nursing training in Germany combines various areas of nursing into a comprehensive programme in order to modernize and improve the profession.
As a “Pflegefachfrau” or “Pflegefachmann”, graduates are qualified for all areas of nursing care in a three-year practical training program.
A generalist approach enables them to work in geriatric, pediatric and general nursing care.

Candidates should have empathy, resilience and enjoy working with people.
The training is free of charge, thanks to the support of the federal states and employers, and is recognized throughout Europe.
The training concludes with an exam, after which you can work in all areas of care.
